This painting is inspired by the beautiful Speulder forest in the Netherlands. It’s a real primeval forest. The large oak trees are gnarled and partly fused together, making the forest look very special. One can also find the dancing trees there. The painting is about hope and finding color and liveliness in the darkest of days in a forest where one can always ask a tree for a dance.
